KABUL: Hamid Karzai, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan met with leadership delegations and members of Afghanistan United Nation Party at presidential palace the other day. At the meeting attended also by a number of Baghlan elders, chairman of Afghanistan United Nation Party Abdul Rahim Ayoubi, deputy of the party Mohammad Ibrahim Basharat and the party’s head for women committee Farzana Farahmand and an elder of Baghlan spoke representing others.
The party’s chairman Abdul Rahim Ayoubi while briefing related to the party said Afghanistan United Nation Party was operating and had offices in 34 provinces, adding the party was making efforts for peace, national unity and solidarity amongst tribes in Afghanistan.
Pointing out related to importance of election in strengthening of national unity, Ayoubi said, “The election has ended political, religious, tribal and language barriers.”
He pointed out that recent demonstrations launched by a presidential candidate and attended also by a brother of the president had shown that democracy had been institutionalized under the leadership of the president. Following, Deputy of Afghanistan United Nation Party Mohammad Ibrahim Basharat spoke and praised President Hamid Karzai for his efforts during his leadership in the past 13 years. Later, Head of Women Committee for Party Farzana Farahmand spoke and praised the president for his impartiality in the election process, asking that the process which was sign of political and national awareness of the people of Afghanistan should end successfully.
After hearing briefings of the party’s members, Hamid Karzai, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan while wishing success to members of Afghanistan United Nation Party said, “I’m happy as the country’s youth including girls and boys are gathering in political parties and working for the better of Afghanistan, adding I will accomplish all those things which can facilitate way for implementation of the process so that the law and relevant organs can declare a new president and I will transfer the power to the new president on 2nd of August.”
At the end of the meeting, an appreciation certificate was granted by members of Afghanistan United Nation Party to the country’s president.
