KABUL: Interior minister Mohammad Omar Daudzai met the deputy to US Secretary for Defense yesterday.
In the meeting also attended by the commander of NATO-led forces General Dunford, both sides hailed successful holding the first and second rounds of the presidential elections and praised the role of Afghan national security forces in ensuring security.
The minister of interior in the meeting said that the international community especially the US had played significant role in equipping and training police personnel.
He also said the security forces particularly police played their role for provision of security during the elections with impartiality.
Expressing happiness over successful holding run-off vote, the US defense dignitary said that the Afghan national security forces by providing security during the elections demonstrated that the international community’s support over the past years had given fruits and has further won the world trust.
He also said that the US would remain alongside Afghans in future.
