KABUL: On behalf of Canada’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, an official congratulatory message has been delivered to Afghanistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the occasion of holding presidential election srun-off and the country’s government has congratulated holding runoff election to government and the people of Afghanistan.
In the message quoting Mr. John Baird, Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs said: The government of Canada deems interest of the people of Afghanistan as good omen for election of their future’s destiny, considering presence of millions of people in the election as sign of the people’s interest to better and stable future. In the message, the Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs has called vast participation of women in presidential run-off election as sign of bright future for Afghanistan, considering it as key for institutionalization of democratic values. In the message, Afghanistan security forces have been also praised for maintaining security during the election and it has been stressed that Canada would be committed to training and capacity building of ANSF.
Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs has expressed hope that the election’s results to be reviewed through legal channels and be acceptable for the presidential candidates.
