Karzai orders urgent assistance to flood-affected in Baghlan

KABUL: Hamid Karzai, president of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan was deeply saddened by recent flash floods causing heavy casualties and financial losses in Baghlan province and ordered national disaster management and all relevant organs for urgent assistance to affected families. According to Baghlan governor, due to heavy rains and flowing floods in Guzargah-e-Nur of the province the other day, 58 bodies were recovered so far and a number of others missing. Meanwhile, a number of residential houses were destroyed and cattles were perished in the incident. President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan instructed disaster committee and relevant organs to take necessary steps make use of all means for providing urgent assistance to flood-affected people. The country’s president offered deep condolence and sympathy to affected families of the incident, wishing patience to affected families and urgent recovery to those injured in the incident.
