KABUL: The spokesman for Ministry of foreign affairs had reacted to the remarks of US ambassador to Afghanistan.
US ambassador in meeting with newsmen the other day said, “The long-term strategic agreement between Afghanistan and the United States of America does not make the American forces responsible to take specific action against the artillery shelling of Pakistan to Afghanistan soil.”
In a statement of the office of foreign ministry spokesman sent to BNA said, “Based on the article 9 of the agreement, the United States of America acknowledges that any foreign aggression against Afghanistan is a matter of concerns for US. In case of such incident, both sides in consultation with each other would respond properly including political, diplomatic, economic and military with the consensus of both sides in accordance with the constitution and implement.”
What the people and the government of Afghanistan want from the strategic agreement is rapid reaction of the United States of America with regard to the attacks.
The office of foreign ministry spokesman in the letter with regard to the remarks of the release of five Taliban members and their swap with American soldiers, wherein the US ambassador stated, “We have no agreement to hand over these people to the government of Afghanistan and the decision was to transfer these people to Qatar”, said that “presidential spokesman has termed it a clear breach to the previous agreement with the government of Afghanistan and strongly rejected.”
The government of Afghanistan have repeatedly stressed on the American administration, its secretary of state and US special envoy on Afghanistan, over the past two years if any Taliban detainee chooses a country to live, the government of Afghanistan does not have any problem with, saying Afghanistan citizens should not be taken from a country to another like a captive.
