Karzai extends felicitation to BJP leader over victory in India parliamentary elections

KABUL: Hamid Karzai, president of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in a telephone contact Friday night with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Narendra Modi extended felicitation over victory of the party in India parliamentary elections.
In the telephone conversation, President Hamid Karzai on behalf of his own and people of Afghanistan congratulated victory of BJP to “Narendra Modi” and friend nation and brother India, asserting that friendship of the people of Afghanistan and India would continue.
“The upcoming government of Afghanistan will also strengthen and continue its friendship and good relations with friend country of India,” President Hamid Karzai added.
In the telephone conversation, president of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan while speaking Indian said, “Your victory with majority of votes in parliamentary elections was a great sign of democracy.”
In return, BJP leader praised president Karzai for the telephone contact and stressed on extension of friendship and relations between the two countries.
