KABUL: The minister for interior Mohammad Omar Daudzai has assured that police are ready to ensure security alongside other security organs for the second round of the presidential elections.
Presiding over a meeting of ranking officials of the ministry for interior the other day, the security situation and possible terrorist attacks to disrupt the run-off was reviewed.
Speaking at the meeting, General Mohammad Ayub Salangi the senior deputy on security with the interior ministry said that the enemies of Afghanistan cannot be the barriers toward development of Afghanistan, noting the security organs especially the police have the readiness to foil the terrorists’ activities.
Reviewing the whole security situation and the possible subversive activities in the center and provinces, the minister for interior pointed out the leadership of the ministry would spare no efforts to thwart all terrorists malicious designs chalked out across the border.
Interior minister in the meeting also instructed senior police commanders to be ready for providing security for the second round of the presidential elections besides respecting impartiality in the process. The Kabul Times
