KABUL: For legalization of activities in media sector and affairs relevant to publication, Deputy Ministry of Information and Culture has taken a step for controlling and monitoring the activities of media and organizations according to article 27th of mass media law.
Deputy Minister of Publication Affairs for Information and Culture Simeen Hasanzada in first work session of controlling and monitoring panel made of representatives of Ministry of Interior, National Directorate of Security and Ministry of Information and Culture stressed on prevention of activities of media and organizations which had no license and said, “As the policy of MoIC is to open not to close, but the policy of the ministry has caused that various organizations in media and publication sector were illegally operating not only in capital but also in provinces of the country.
“Operation of media and organizations without license was not only violation of mass media law but also a threat for culture, policy and community of the country and should be prevented,” Simeen Hasanzada added.
She said controlling and monitoring panel was authorized to step legal action and prevent from activities of media organizations without license based on articles of mass media law. It is worth mentioning that Deputy Ministry of Publication Affairs for Information and Culture has previously issued declaration related to taking license and given one month opportunity to media and organizations for taking license according to article 27 of mass media law.
