KABUL: First Vice-President Mohammad Younus Qanuni received the head and members of the Afghan Cricket Board (ACB) on Sunday.
At the meeting, according to BNA, the vice-president lauded the achievements of cricket board and said: “You have the honor for hoisting the flag of Afghanistan in different countries and demonstrating the capability of Afghanistan.”
Hinting at achievements in the fields of sport, Qanuni said that Afghan athletes have considerably achieved over the past 13 years, adding the youths playing in cricket are the pride of the county.
The first vice president also noted that the football national team has tremendously achieved and is the source of pride for us.
Investing on youths and the young generation in all fields virtually is investment for the bright future of Afghanistan, the vice president noted.
For his part, the head of cricket board and advisor minister to presidency, Shahzada Massoud said that the national cricket team of Afghanistan had three times competed international match in short span which is a good omen for the team’s bright future.
Speaking in the meeting, a member of the teak said that Afghanistan national cricket team has secured 12th positions at world level and is trying to secure better place. The Kabul Times
