KABUL: President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Hamid Karzai in a telephone conversation with Prince Muqrin Ibne Abdul Aziz Ale Saud, congratulated him as deputy crown’s prince a move sets out his place as second-in-line to the throne, the presidential office said Tuesday.
On behalf of the people of Afghanistan, the president said he extends his best wishes to him [for his appointment], the kingdom family and brother nation of the Saudi Arabia, the statement said.
He called the decision made by Khadem-ul-Haramain-e-Sharifain, His Excellency Malik Abdullah Ben-e-Abdul Aziz Ale Saud appreciable to appoint Prince Muqrin as the deputy crown’s prince.
The president thanked the instruction of Khadem-ul-Haramain and Prince Mqurin’s efforts towards peace process success in Afghanistan.
Prince Muqrin thanked President Karzai for his telephone conversation and expressed tranquility to the Afghan nation.
