Handing over military equipments of foreign forces to ANSF a discussable issue

KABUL: As foreign forces are about to withdraw from Afghanistan, somehow handing over the forces’ military equipments to Afghan security forces is a controversial issue.
A spokesman for Ministry of National Defense General Mohammad Zahir Azimi said, “Afghanistan Ministry of National Defense is expecting US as a strategic ally of the country to hand over ammunitions and equipments to ANA as holding independently operations and being responsible for maintaining domestic and foreign security, adding ANA took security responsibilities last year and planning and launching operations by 97% in the country are capable to make use of the ammunitions and equipments.”
He further said foreign partners were directly cooperating with ANA in training of modern arms. Ministry of National Defense was asking the United States of America, the key donors of ANA and highly investing in training and equipping sector of Afghan forces to give in those equipments which were effective for further ability and capability of ANA to ANSF, he said.
