KABUL: The vice president Mohammad Karim Khalili met yesterday with Francis Vindrel the former envoy of European Union to Afghanistan. In the meeting, according to BNA matters pertaining Afghanistan and the region came under discussion.
Hailing the progress that Afghanistan has made over the past decade, Mr. Vindrel said that the people of Afghanistan in partnership with the international community have made achievements in various fields over the past decade.
Describing the coming presidential and provincial councils’ elections as very important, he hoped the coming polls will be held in fair and transparent manner.
The vice president Mohammad Karim Khalili in his address appreciated the efforts of Vindrel during his tenure as European Union envoy to Afghanistan and said that the international community is partner with the people and government of Afghanistan for the achievements have made.
Khalili also said that the government of Afghanistan is determined to have fair and transparent elections free of foreign, national body interference, saying holding fair elections is the only way for political transition and ensuring peace and stability in Afghanistan.
