CM pays homage to late Marshal Fahim

KABUL: The Councils of Ministers in its meeting with President Hamid Karzai on the chair prayed for the departed soul of late vice president Marshal Mohammad Qasim Fahim.
In the meeting held at the Presidential Palace, lauded the services of the late Marshal and prayed “May his departed soul rest to eternal peace.”
It was also decided that the Fatiha Khanai (Praying ceremony) to be held on Wednesday in Kabul and provinces.
Addressing the meeting the president described the late Marshal as good and valiant person striving for unity and peace in the country. In addition to expressing sympathy with the family of Marshal Fahim, the president stated that the people of Afghanistan would respect him forever. President also recalled that the late Marshal had always stood alongside him and responded to criticism about peace process, Fahim said, it is the responsibility of president and the government to bring about peace.
Recalling the services of late Marshal Fahim, the second vice president Mohammad Karim Khalili termed him as honest man and the servant of nation., saying Fahim death is a great loss and his place will remain vacuum forever. The minister for defense General Bismillah Mohammadi in his remarks described the late Marshal Fahim as a God fearing and poise personality, saying the late Marshal sacrificed his life in the defense of the country. Advisor to president, Nimatullah Shahrani in his speech said that the death of Marshal Fahim was a great loss for the nation of Afghanistan. Other ministers and ranking officials have also praised the services of late Marshal Fahim and expressed sympathy with his family and friends. The Kabul Times
