AGO orders release of 65 prisoners from Bagram

KABUL: A commissioned panel of Attorney General yesterday ordered the release of 65 prisoners from Bagram Prison after their cases had been addressed.
According to BNA, previously the panel tasked by President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan had decided to review cases of 88 prisoners of the prison.
Attorney General Office (AGO) says the prisoners’ cases have been reviewed and the order for releasing 65 prisoners has been issued.
Admitting the news, a spokesman for Attorney General Basir Azizi told BNA, “The commissioned panel of AGO has addressed the prisoners’ cases, resulted in issuing the order for releasing 65 prisoners from Bagram Prison.”
He added the panel would keep on reviewing on other 23 prisoners’ cases.
