KABUL: Marshal Mohammad Qasim Fahim, First-Vice-President chaired the meeting of the National Security Council.
To start with, Marshal Fahim regretted the martyrdom of one of the members of Dr. Abdullah’s electoral team by the enemies of the people of Afghanistan and voiced his sympathies to the family of the martyrs, and issued instructions to the security organs that by taking of firm security measures prevent repetition of such incidents.
Touching on the consolidation of stability and security in the country, he added that Afghanistan is preparing for holding of the election so all the security organs of the country are responsible to take active part in this process.
He suggested that the upcoming election should be held in full security atmosphere for it is very important for the people of Afghanistan.
The ministers of defense, interior affairs and head of the national security department presented reports with respect to security throughout the country and voiced their preparedness that all the security forces are prepared to ensure the security of election throughout the country to enable the people participate at the election in calm atmosphere.
The meeting also discussed important security issues and necessary decisions were adopted.
